The Bimini Islands - North and South Bimini

The Bimini Islands consist of two islands: North and South Bimini. This island group is just 50 miles off of the coast of Florida. North Bimini is a 7 mile strip of land roughly 700 yards wide. South Bimini is where the airport is located and has just a few hotels on it. South Bimini is mostly a quiet, serene island and very different that that of North Bimini. North Bimini is where the action is as the nightlife is filled with fishermen trading stories and tales of their great endeavors. Some of the world's finest fishing can be done here at The Bimini Islands, year round, as nature brings together Florida's Gulf Stream and the Bahama Banks. The conditions are set for some great angling and championship tournaments are present all year. There have been over 50 world records set here in the world of a ngling. Some of the fish that will be found in these parts include Grouper, Swordfish, Marlin, Tuna, and Wahoo. During the fishing tournaments, the streets are filled with excitement. The whole island lives and breathes angling. Not only do you want to vacation here if you are an angler, you just may retire here when the opportunity arises. Let's not forget about the divers and snorkelers. This is one of the greatest diving places on earth as the strange and underwater stone formations along with the many past shipwrecks bring together a diver's pleasure field.
